That Holiday Feeling

Posted on November 28, 2015 | 1 comment

It’s hard to turn on your TV these recent days and not feel overwhelmed; the urge to wrap your arms around those you love and pull them a little bit closer suddenly deepens. The best part of the holidays is being able to do just that, and being surrounded by family has a beautiful way of reminding you of all the light that is in this world beaming through the darkness.

We had the sweet treat to be surrounded by all of my (Amy’s) family members for Thanksgiving, celebrating on Friday – and even replaying the Macy’s Parade to enjoy together. My sisters and I split up the cooking duties this year, and if there’s one thing to know about our bunch, it’s that we have a pretty spectacularly huge love for good food.

We danced our way through a morning and afternoon of cooking and by the end of the night I think it was safe to say everyone’s bellies were pleasantly full.

A warm home, a table full of leftovers, laughter from healthy nephews, a soft bed to rest on… We just have so much to be thankful for, and it’s beautifully heartbreaking to remind ourselves of this.

I’ve made turkeys before – for two people – but this was my first time making the turkey for a whole group of people. Yikes. Nerve wracking. But thankfully, it was not only a success, but received a happy dance from the nephews (score!).0M6A5564

Thank you for being around, for stumbling upon this post; we wouldn’t be Vafa Photo without your stunning support. So many X’s and O’s from us to you!
