Kylee + John | Marquette Michigan Wedding
John stood on Sunset Point with ring in hand. Behind him spanned Lake Superior, fiercely blue and glistening under the open sky. He knew Kylee would be arriving any moment thinking she was meeting her family, and would be surprised to find John standing there alone. Alone – he looked towards the road and noticed a large Checker bus heading his way, and once it stopped moving, a bride and groom with their wedding party came spilling out ready to take pictures. Trying not to panic, John put on his best face and approached the couple. He began explaining that his girlfriend was set to appear any second and he was planning on proposing to her. Wide grins and “awww!”‘s came abounding from the group, and they happily scurried back towards their bus to find a different location. It wasn’t until John was on one knee when he noticed out of the corner of his eye that same Checker bus driving by, but this time moving considerably slower, and the entire party pressed their faces to the windows with a front row view to the sweetest of moments.
Kylee and John were married in Marquette, Michigan with weather of a most spectacular Upper Peninsula summer day. Happy tear filled eyes could be spotted all day long, almost at any point, as their family and friends helped celebrate their most memorable day yet. Thank you, K+J, for allowing us to be a part of such a gorgeous day!

Abby + Joshua | Michigan Engagement Part 2
When Abby and Josh came to us last year with the idea of having two engagement sessions in two different seasons, we could have never imagined all of the goodness that would come from both. We would be lying if we said we hadn’t been a little nervous when we first considered the concept – the idea of doing the same type of session with the same two people twice felt like a large undertaking so as not to create two sessions that fell flat or seemed repetitive. Little did we know then the pure magic that is Abby + Josh.
With stylish button ups and flowing dresses and golden hair, these two epitomize summertime. Every warm sunshine feeling is felt when you notice the way they look at each other. To say they sparkle is an understatement. To say their love is captivating doesn’t even begin to convey it. It’s almost as if words fall flat when trying to describe the way they fit together.
We couldn’t have been more honored to have had the chance to create images in two different beautiful Michigan seasons with these lovebirds! Here’s to love and life and seeing these two tie the knot next summer. Cheers!

Melissa + Gavin | Marquette Michigan Engagement
Gavin passed Melissa in the hallway of their high school. They exchanged smiles, and it was as though butterflies began dancing around inside of Melissa’s stomach. They both knew each other – it was hard not to when you grew up in a small town – but Gavin was older and he graduated before any sort of relationship could form. Years went by and so did the distance between them – Gavin spent time abroad while Melissa found herself moving to Seattle, but they could never quite erase one another from their minds. It wasn’t until Melissa found herself making a visit home at the same time as Gavin when they would meet for a drink to “catch up.” It was obvious that something was forming between them that night. Something so wonderful, that Gavin decided to pack his own bags and head towards Seattle.
Fast forward.
Melissa looked up at Gavin and smiled. Gavin did his best to smile back in a way that looked natural. It was Christmas and the two were exchanging presents, but it was all Gavin could do to try and hide his nerves while keeping a close eye on the presents under the tree. There was a small box, a specific box, he needed her to open last. When time came for Melissa to reach for that last present, she paused and wanted to watch Gavin open up his gift. Realizing she had paused, he began tearing through wrapping paper to open up his last present as fast as possible. He mumbled a “thanks!” and scooted closer to the edge of his seat to make sure he didn’t miss the moment. Melissa started in on her last gift, and when she realized just exactly what was inside, she heard the words “Will you marry me?”
