We had the privilege of second shooting for our cousin, Josh, at the wedding of our OTHER cousin, Heather, in October! Heather and Aniefiok (“Nerf” for short) were married on a chilly autumn day at the Butte des Morts Country Club in Northern Wisconsin, surrounded by all of their loved ones. We were so thrilled to be able to do what we love around the people that we love (though let’s be honest, taking photos at a family members wedding is wayyy more fun than work). Heather, Nerf, and Josh had crafted the perfect timeline for photos so that there was plenty of time to relax, take copious amounts of photos in beautiful locations, and even squeeze in a moment for some hot chocolate in the lobby with their wedding party. Yep, that’s our kind of wedding day!

It was the perfect autumn inspired wedding; colored leaves displayed as table centerpieces, touches of chrome and gold and rose gold met your eye throughout the day, pumpkins leading you into the reception, and…snow. It was the first snowfall of the year for the sweet little northern town, though everyone was certain it would melt as soon as the sun appeared. But it didn’t. And let’s be real, the snowy touches across the trees and sidewalks and on tops of buildings just made the day that much more unique, that much more special, that much more perfect.

Sarah peered through a tiny space between the two church doors, looking in on family and friends seated in the pews and her groom standing at the front. Her heart felt like it could take off flying at any moment, and as she stood upright next to her father she took in the deepest of breaths. Her train was being adjusted just right, she looked down to hook her arm through her fathers, the doors opened, and Mark looked on from the front in awe.

Sarah and Mark were married on a glorious late September day in Kalamazoo’s First United Methodist Church, and followed with a reception at the beautiful Kalamazoo Country Club. Sarah’s father constructed the most breathtaking “floral shelf” (with flowers adorning it from Tracy Park of Park Place Designs) that hung above their sweetheart table, and guests not only enjoyed dinner and dancing, but a ‘late night snack’ of pizza and a donut bar with donuts from Sweetwater’s Donut Mill (uhmm…can you say the best idea ever?!).
